The upcoming second edition of RHODA Youth Centre’s workshop for teachers has received commendation and support from the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Aroyewun.
Aroyewun gave the pledge when the team of the RHODA Youth Centre led by Mrs Tosan Erogbogbo, an executive of the group presented the chairman its plan for the second edition of the initiative, tagged, “Ikorodu Teachers Workshop 2026”
The 2026 edition which is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 9th September, at the Megalite Event Centre, Igbe, Ignogbo, is themed, “Developing Future-Ready Teachers for Innovation, Excellence, Creativity & Lasting Impact”.
The first edition of the free professional development workshop for all teachers in Ikorodu was a huge success with massive impacts on tutors.
Aroyewun commending the RHODA team’s initiative as a welcome development and intervention, described it as a collaborative intervention and partnership to improve education and give children and young people good and quality education in Ikorodu.
”This is what we should be doing as a government but we cannot fund it all that is why intervention and partnership from responsible organisations like yours is necessary.
” This will go a long way in training and updating our teachers’ skills and make them update their techniques,” Aroyewun said.
Chairman Aroyewun stated further that his administration and other council chairmen in Ikorodu Division are doing their best to correct challenges facing education in terms of facilities, adequate learning materials and ensuring that no child is left behind.
”We are doing everything to address challenges that we met on the ground, despite the fact that Ikorodu receives the least allocation in the state.
”But, we have the highest number of teachers, largest number of pupils and we are doing everything to expand the infrastructures to make the learning environment conducive for both pupils and staff.”
”In Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, we are not only renewing the existing facilities, but we are also building new ones with modern facilities to make learning compatible with the global standard for our pupils,” he said.
Aroyewun who also commended the RHODA team for the provision of learning materials and scholarship for students across the division, assured the team of the IBLCDA total support for the upcoming teachers workshop.
According to RHODA, the workshop highlights included Effective Classroom Management Modern Assessment Techniques, Future-Ready Teaching; Innovation, Excellence & Impact, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools for Classroom Application, Innovation in Teaching and Learning.
Others are Interactive Breakout Sessions, Panel Discussion with Education Experts, Workshop Communiqué and Certificate of Participation.
Expected to attend are Public and Private School Teachers, Head Teachers, School Administrators, School Proprietors, Education Officers and Aspiring Teachers.
